YOUTH

Did you know?

Did you know FUMC offers year round programs that encourage our youth to Seek, Serve, Grow and Connect? This year as we continue to grow and learn about ourselves, about others, and most of all about our Heavenly Father, we are exploring what it means to be “Under Construction for Christ.” Phillipians 1:6 says “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”  Come check out our youth programs and see how Christ is working in you. Youth Small Group Study

Youth Sunday School classes utilize media, activities, and discussion to explore the Bible and our Methodist traditions. During the school year FUMC offers a sixth-grade class, a seventh and eighth-grade class, and a senior high class at 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. Please check the yellow announcement sheets for classroom locations.

During the school year youth will enjoy different study opportunities on Wednesday evenings after the family fellowship dinner. In this intimate setting youth may delve further into Christian topics.

Confirmation within the Methodist Church is a time of spiritual exploration that culminates in an affirmation of faith and membership in the church. The class is open to all youth who have not yet been confirmed, beginning in sixth grade. Confirmation classes begin in January and run through Pentecost (May or June). Classes meet on Sunday morning. In addition to class time, the program offers field trips, a lock-in, and mission opportunities.

UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship)

During the school year UMYF meets every Sunday evening in the Fellowship Hall. Sunday evenings we all relax a bit and enjoy fellowship. Worship, study and discussion groups, and FUN all await youth on Sunday evening. We seek to break down barriers and build an environment where all youth can question and grow in their faith. We share a snack supper followed by the UMYF activities between 5:00-7:00.
