Youth Mission Opportunities

FUMC offers a number of mission opportunities specifically for youth:

Faith In Action youth ministry groups gives the youth an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in the church and all over Fredericksburg in a variety of ways throughout the year. MICAH breakfasts for the homeless, service at the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank, and youth mentorships in our Upwards Basketball ministry are just some of the opportunities offered.

The Jeremiah Project coordinates an outstanding mission opportunity for middle school youth, with locations in West Virginia and Virginia. Middle schoolers from across our Methodist Virginia Conference gather to either repair homes or work with the homeless in Richmond. Personal Bible study, corporate worship, and FUN are all a part of the program designed specifically for our middle school youth.

FredCamp is a local ecumenical mission week where high school youth serve the underprivileged in our community. They spend their evenings in a local Christian high school and their days rebuilding people's homes and lives.  We are looking for adult volunteers during the week of July 3 - 9. We need go-fers: people who can help deliver materials and supplies to work crews (trucks are especially helpful) during the day from 9:00am to 3:00pm. We can use you all day or in the morning or afternoon.  We can use you all five days or just one day.  We also need salad makers who can come in about 3:30pm to help prepare the salad bar for dinner. Volunteers are "paid" in lots of thank yous and dinner if you stay. Please contact Chris Silkensen for more info and to volunteer: , 540-273-5845 WE NEED YOU!

Carolina Cross Connection (affectionately referred to as “CCC”) offers high school youth the opportunity to serve both domestically and internationally.
