Step 3 - Addressing the Hurt

God laid on my heart (in September 2023 ) to share this Lenten sermon series focusing on Reconciliation. Reconciliation happens in the wake of pain and hurt. It is a process that seeks to restore and repair relationships that have been stressed and/or broken. It is a part of life, faith, and living in community.

The sermon title for Sunday is "Addressing the Hurt," the third step in seeking to be reconciled. As we have learned, we first name and own the hurt, then step into the change that comes in our acknowledgment and learning of how we have hurt the other. Once we begin that work we then address the hurt, to seek an understanding of how the hurt has affected the other, while also seeking an understanding of ourselves, so we might be changed through the experience.

In this season of Lent, we seek understanding. We are a little more intentional in naming our truths, and we seek change and to be changed through and by the Grace of Jesus Christ. The best way I know of to find that understanding and to address the hurt is to journey through it together.

I hope that you will be here,  for we are Christ's body together, invited to live into where we are, trusting and knowing that God is with us every step of the way.
