First: Stinky Sheep or Good Sheep

Ask God to open your eyes to how generous you really are.  Ask Him what areas you need to improve in and to prepare your heart to begin giving Him your best in those areas.  Ask God to help you gain trust in Him to step out in generosity this week, whether it’s with your time, your attention, your talents, or your resources.   Begin to listen for His prompting and look for opportunities.

“Dear God, remind me today to ask ‘How does God want to use me?’ instead of ‘How is this going to be good for me?’ Open my eyes to how generous I really am. And, reveal to me the opportunities to expand that generosity through a child-like faith. It is you who gives to us so that we may bless others.”

We all have areas of our lives that are precious to us. Give God thanks for what He has provided you.   Reflect on what is hardest for you to give up.  (time, money, stuff, space), Ask God to open your eyes to what has possession of your heart, soul, mind and strength.

“Dear God, may what I give reflect my heart. What are you asking me to give of today? Who needs my generosity in their life today? Speak to me to reveal where I am not giving my first and best. May the opportunities presented me for blessing others be abundant and clear. I will trust in you to step out in generosity.”

Memorize Luke 10:27

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.

Series Information

In this series, you will see a family take risks, experience suffering, doubt and joy while we reflect upon biblical precepts of "giving God our best." Moreover, you will see what happens when the family chooses to embrace a generous life in the midst of uncertainty.  Like them, you will be invited into a transformational process concluding with our church-wide pledging for 2019 church ministry support in worship Saturday/Sunday on October 20-21, 2018.
