Remember God Loves You

Over the next 3 weeks, as we get back to fall routines with beginning of school, etc., our hope is that we all can “kick-start” our faith a bit for this busy season to focus on guidance found in the Old Testament book of Malachi. Today, we begin with God’s assertion that God loves us.  While we know that God loves us, we sometimes lose the power of this gift in the busyness of life, or sometimes frankly, we take this gift of radical love too lightly.  What difference does the knowledge that God loves you actually make in life on a day-to-day basis?  How might this reality take on greater importance and/or power that helps you live as a stronger, more faithful disciple of Jesus?

To look at this subject deeper, consider a scriptural study of God’s love.  What key markers demonstrate God’s love in the biblical narrative?  What biblical characters stand as a witness to the love of God or exemplars of love?  What are God’s commands to us and expectations about love?

Knowing you are loved infinitely does have power. Living in this love can change the world around us.  May this knowledge influence the way you respond in love and amazing grace to all each day!

Series Information

Over the summer,  we can get disconnected.  The beginning of school and fall kick-off of routines offer a time to focus on faith and our vows to God.  Our new series intends to “kick start” us toward a passionate engagement with God and God’s church.  Based on the teachings of Malachi, we will discuss how to live in God’s love, be loyal to God and embrace all that a life in faith can offer.  Let’s kick off together with the right focus as our fall activities begin; we hope you find a place in one of them.
