Make the Call

    MAKE THE CALL

Early in my faith walk I remember reading a book by Max Lucado called When God Whispers Your Name. The book encourages us to listen to our hearts and the direct contact line with GOD we often take for granted, when we accept Christ as lord and savior.  How many times do we ask where God is in tough times? When busy or anxious about any life event we look for God’s guidance and support. When we have some good news to share, whom do we call or contact to enjoy the excitement, beyond family of beyond our usual contact list.

I have developed a habit that any time…or any where that I think about someone, I GIVE THEM A CALL.  Following the whispers from my dreams the night before, or a song on the radio, signs I see while driving or just the quiet of the day I may get a whisper or thought to call someone. So, I do, and always find it a genuine and rewarding time with the person on the other end of the phone. It always amazes me the times my call has caught someone needing a gentle ear, to listen. Or someone I have not heard from for a while and to just catch up on “life!” It is so easy now that we have our friends SIRI or ALEXA … to just say “Call ____”.

We are all encouraged to love God and our Neighbors with all our hearts and ALL our soul…so just do it and enjoy your day while you share God’s LOVE with someone to brighten their day…
I might be calling you next!!

    Read: Matthew 22:36-39 (NIV)

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
