    WHAT’S IN YOUR TOOLBOX? – March 8, 2025
Psalm 139:13  “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
    From Lily Knerr, age 11.
I believe that I have many talents, but one is art.  I enjoy making and sharing my art with family, friends, and people who help me.  I spread God’s love by making art for the people I love and care about and then gifting it to them.  When I went on my confirmation retreat recently, I gifted a drawing I had done to the church we visited.  I also drew a picture for Pastor Chelsea to share with her family!  They felt very loved getting the gifts and that reflects the love God has for us.
Another talent I have is swimming.  I spread God’s love by cheering on and congratulating my teammates and all other swimmers after they swim.  I help younger kids learn to be better and act as a role model for them, being loving and supportive as God would want me to be.
I also make sure to thank God every day for the talents he has given me. They have shaped who I am.  I appreciate the gifts I have been given, and I remember to be thankful for them.  God has chosen me specifically for these talents and I am happy to use them to spread and share His affection for everyone, and that is what I plan to do!  My parents always remind me to “let my light shine” and I feel like I do this when I share my gifts with others.

You were made exactly how God wanted you to be.  What gifts and talents have God given you?  How can you use them to serve others?  How can you nurture these during lent? There are many ways to go about answering these questions but here are a few ideas:
    • 1- Identify your talents: What are you good at?  What would others say you are good at?  What do you enjoy? What are your strengths?
    • 2- Give thanks to God: Thank God for your talents.  Pray and ask God (and others) how you can use your talents to serve and glorify Him.
    • 3- Use your talents: Take action! Help others, love others, share your gifts with others.
What one thing can you do today to take a gift from your toolbox and use it to show God’s love to someone around you?
