We are invited to meet a need today by one of our Lay Leaders, Scott Aiken
Meet a Need – March 31, 2025
Proverbs 19:17 – Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.
King Solomon displayed his wisdom when he wrote the passage above! John the Baptist lends a little more specificity, as recorded in the Gospel of Luke: “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” As we look to meet needs, this is a good starting point. In my mind, John’s words point locally towards the Micah ministry and our church’s food pantry.
Each of us is unique with varying personalities, talents, and passions. We possess great potential, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good work, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10). What’s your passion? And how can you link that passion to a need? Whether contributing to a church ministry, or fulfilling a need in the broader secular world, we all have a role in contributing towards God’s call to do good work. The days of Lent are ticking by, what needs are you filling?
