Holding Fast to Good Traditions and an Unhurried God
I invite you to spend some time this week noticing when you are waiting for something. Write down what you might be longing for as you wait. How do you perceive God is at work in you and through you as you wait?
Having patience and waiting can be hard for many of us. How are we to live into our times of waiting in our ordinary days? I invite you to read John Wesley’s sermon, “The Scripture Way of Salvation”, https://www.umcmission.org/Find-Resources/John-Wesley-Sermons/Sermon-43-The-Scripture-Way-of-Salvation, as a way to dive deeper into our Methodist tradition of sanctification by and through our faith. Wesley shares some practical ways we can live in the midst of our waiting.
